Canada-based Quadra Mining has cut its production targets for the rest of the year from its Nevada-based Robinson mine and Arizona-based Carlota mine due to lower than expected second quarter results.

Combined production in the three months ended 30 June was 29.7 million pounds of copper and 18,031oz of gold.

At the Robinson mine, the inability to access hypogene ore in the Veteran pit reduced production estimates.

At Carlota, production was below estimates because of lower than scheduled ore mined and because of lower than planned leaching rates, Quadra Mining said.

Copper production at the Robinson mine is expected to be 130 million pounds of copper while Carlota is expected to produce 35 million pounds, down from the original target of 50 million pounds.

The gold production target at the Robinson mine is unchanged at 100,000oz, with its second quarter production at 18,031oz.
