Danish minerals equipment supplier FLSmidth has won a $41m machinery contract at an Indian refinery owned by a subsidiary of metals miner Hindalco.

The order from Utkal Alumina International is for bauxite grinding machinery and a mud washing plant.

The contract includes design, engineering, supply, installation and commissioning, FLSmidth said in a statement.

FLSmidth previously installed a coal handling system and suspension calciner at the same plant.
