TransAmerican Minerals has received a mining permit from the Colombian Government for the development of surface coal.

With the receipt of the permit, the firm has now secured all of the required documentation for mining, which will be effective immediately.

The firm will carry out the surface coal mine operations, with use of conventional open-pit mining techniques by means of truck and shovel methods.

The firm will implement the similar open-pit mining techniques at successive locations in the future as permits are granted.

TransAmerican Minerals spokesperson said that the receipt of the permit represents the beginning of a significant phase to increase the production levels and meet the firm’s goals for 2011.
