Ethiopia is expected to double the mining exports to an annual $1bn earlier than planned.
Ethiopian Mining Minister Sinkenesh Ejigu told Reuters that the country is expected to earn $500m through mining exports by next July. It had previously aimed to double that over the next five years, reports Reuters.
The mining exports include Gemstones, Gold, Platinum and Tantalum.
Ethiopia plans to begin mining potash in two years and target potash exports of 1 million tons annually within five years.
