Alexis Minerals Corporation has initiated a turnaround plan for the Lac Herbin mine to improve recoveries, make significant near mine exploration and carry out intensive underground development.

The plan aims to increase operational flexibility by increasing the number of stopes from three to five by the end of the third quarter resulting in production of up to 20,000oz.

Alexis will improve recoveries at its Aurbel mill located 1km east of the mine from 89.3% to 92%.

Alexis president and CEO Francois Perron said the exploration programme will improve company knowledge of the deposit to the east and to the west and generate new targets for the next two years.

“The new plan will balance the production effort with the nature of the deposit and maximize flexibility for operations underground,” said Perron.
