Russia’s largest aluminium producer RUSAL has signed a memorandum of intent with Cameroon’s Ministry of Industry, Mines and Technology Development to undertake a wide-ranging feasibility study of various metals and mining projects in the country.
During RUSCAL’s visit to Cameroon, the firm studied the possibility of participating in the bauxite and alumina production, and estimated the raw material and energy potential of the country’s energy and transport infrastructure.
Government representatives have confirmed that RUSAL’s participation in the development of the country’s natural resources will benefit the economic development of the country.
A joint working group will be established, consisting of RUSAL representatives and the Ministry, to develop proposals for the firm’s involvement in the Cameroon projects.
