A gas explosion at a coal mine in the town of Sabinas, Coahuila, Mexico, has left 14 workers trapped.
According to officials the blast occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning at a depth of 60m, but it is not clear whether there were any fatalities.
Sabinas mayor Jesus Maria Montemayor Garza said a 15-year old miner who was on the surface at the time lost an arm as a result of the explosion.
Rescue workers could not enter the mine due to the presence of methane gas.
