Energy Fuels has received the final radioactive materials licence to construct the Pinon Ridge uranium mill in Montrose County, Colorado, US.
The licence, issued by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, allows Energy Fuels to process an annual maximum quantity of ore, not exceeding an average of 500t of uranium and vanadium ore at the mill.
The licence also includes 16 conditions, which specify additional requirements to be met before constructing the mill, before beginning operations and during mill decommissioning.
The conditions include submission of detailed designs and plans, training, reporting, monitoring and testing.
With the approval, the firm has got all the primary environmental permits needed to operate a uranium mill in Colorado.
