The Afghan Government is planning to increase its income from the mining and exploration of underground natural resources to $3.5bn within the next 15 years.
Minister for Mines Waheedullah Shahrani told reporters that the annual income through mining is around $30m.
“The ministry would increase it to $1bn over the next five years, by implementing development projects,” Shahrani said.
According to ministry, the country has untapped minerals worth over $3tn.
