A gas explosion in an unlicensed coal mine in China’s Guizhou province has left two injured and five trapped underground.

The explosion took place at 8:40pm on 8 November in Qinglong county, according to Xinhua.

The local government has sent a rescue team to save the miners while safety authorities and the police are investigating the cause of the explosion.
