Sudan has signed ten gold and mineral exploration deals relating to contracts in the north of the country.

Mining Minister Abdel Bagi al-Jaylani told Reuters that the country has initiated deals involving domestic and international companies representing China, Great Britain, India and Saudi Arabia to explore copper, gold, iron, lead and zinc.

Sudan has entered into 47 mining agreements this year, while it expects to sign 50 more next year for mining in Darfur, Kassala and Gedaref.
