Mintec, a software developer and service provider for the mining industry, has received the President's E-Award for Exports by US Acting Secretary of Commerce Rebecca Blank in Washington, DC.
The E-Awards recognise US companies who make a significant contribution to the expansion of the country's exports.
Mintec is a global network of mining professionals offering technology, service and support in complex mining operations worldwide.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Blank said; "I am delighted to be recognising this year's Presidential E-Award winners for their outstanding contributions to US exports and congratulate Mintec on its outstanding export achievement."
"It is businesses like Mintec that are strengthening the economies of local communities, creating jobs, and contributing to the worldwide demand for 'Made in the USA' goods and services," added Blank.
Mintec offers MineSight, a modeling and mine planning software platform that provides integrated services for exploration, modeling, design, scheduling and production.
The software handles all geomodeling mining applications, whether underground or surface, from precious to base metals, for coal, oil sands and industrial minerals, and improves productivity throughout the life of a mine.
The software is used for geological interpretation, feasibility, mine planning, and daily mine operations management in the exploration stage of mine development.
Mintec chief operating officer Susan Wick said her company is honoured to be recognised with the Presidential E-Award.
"I'm proud to accept it on behalf of Mintec founder and chairman, Fred Banfield, and our staff, whose hard work and innovation make MineSight the industry leader in mining software."
In 2012, Mintec was recognised with the 2012 Excellence in Global Business Award from Arizona Congressman Ron Barber and Carolita Oliveros, vice chair of the Arizona District Export Council.
