Rockwood Holdings entered into a definitive Scheme Implementation Agreement with Talison Lithium to purchase all of Talison's ordinary shares at C$724m ($728.2m) on a fully diluted basis.

The transaction represents a 53% premium to Talison's last closing price of C$4.24 ($4.25).

Natural Resource Partners has completed the acquisition of coal reserves at the Deer Run mine near Hillsboro, Illinois, for $40m from Colt, an affiliate of the Cline Group.

With this final acquisition, NRP has now completed the $255m purchase of approximately 200 million tons of reserves related to the Deer Run mine.

PMI Gold subsidiary Adansi Gold's has secured approval from the government of Ghana to acquire the Datano mining lease adjacent to its Obotan gold project.

The company announced last month that Adansi had entered into an agreement with Midras Mining Company to acquire the lease for $6m, subject to receiving approval for the sale and transfer of the mining lease to Adansi.

Yamana Gold has completed the acquisition of all issued and outstanding shares of Extorre Gold Mines, a transaction that was announced in June 2012.

The company will spend $5m on the Cerro Morro project over the next few months to carry out upgrades and increase mineral resources, said Yamana Gold chairman and CEO Peter Marrone.

EMED Mining has raised £3.5m by selling 41.6m shares at 8.5p each in the UK and Canada.

Proceeds from the sale will be paid as consideration for its land acquisition deals, which helped restart the Rio Tinto copper mine in Andalucía, Spain.

South American Gold has acquired two unpatented mining claims to expand its Baltimore Silver Mine project by 40 acres.

The company signed a memorandum of understanding to acquire the claims, which will take the project area to a total of 100 acres.
