Cerro Grande Mining Corp has reported preliminary results from its first diamond drill hole at the Santa Cecilia prospect located at the southern end of the Maricunga District in Chile.
Final assays reported that the drill hole was drilled to a depth of 1,738.8m, to test matching gold and copper mobile metal ion anomalies.
From a depth of 870m to 1,738.8m, the hole showed persistent and strong copper, gold and molybdenum mineralisation.
A second hole, CDM 003, is currently being drilled to the south of CDM 002 and is expected to enter mineralisation at a lesser depth than the first hole.
Cerro Grande said the results from the second hole should establish the continuity of the mineralisation and may indicate higher values.
Chile-based Acme Analytical Labs carried out the sample preparation and assays.
