Massey Energy has resumed operations at its Revolution mine in Uneeda, West Virginia, US.

The mine had been idle since 4 June 2010 while the government considered approving the implementation of a ventilation plan.

Mine Safety and Health Administration has agreed to a revised and improved ventilation plan that will push fresh air along a conveyer belt.

Massey said the closure of the mine is negatively impacting shipments for the third quarter of 2010.
