Zijin Mining has suspended operations at its Yinyan tin mine in Guangdong province, China, after the tailings dam collapsed due to mud and rock slides triggered by typhoon Fanapi.

Electricity supply, communication and transportation are all suspended at the mine site.

Zijin Mining said the impact of the suspension is yet to be assessed.

The company said it has not received any reports of casualties.

Yinyan tin mine is in trial production, and the tailing pool is in an initial operation stage.
