Paladin Energy is looking for assets in Kazakhstan and Canada to boost its uranium output as it seeks to meet increasing overseas demand for nuclear fuel, especially from China.

The company is planning to double uranium oxide production to 14 million pounds by 2016 from a projected seven million pounds in the year ending 30 June 2011.

Paladin is also set to start uranium production in Australia from 2015, reports Bloomberg.
