Consolidated Minerals said it wants to increase its annual manganese production by 25% to meet rising global demand from steelmakers.
CEO Glenn Baldwin said the company is ramping up production at Woodie Woodie, which is on track to produce 1.2 million tons of manganese this year for the first time, according to Bloomberg.
The company is expected to produce an output of 350,000-400,000t a year.
In January 2008 Consolidated Minerals was acquired by Palmary Enterprises for $1.2bn.
