Korea Electric Power Corporation, South Korea's largest utility company, will acquire a 20% stake in Indonesian coal producer PT Bayan Resources in order to increase its coal supplies.

The deal is worth $515m.

Australian gold miners Bendigo Mining and BCD Resources will merge in a $143m deal to create a mid-tier producer with a capacity to produce around 137,00oz/year of gold.

Quadra FNX has acquired a 12.5% stake in Gold Wheaton Gold Corp, increasing its stake to 34.5%.

ZYL will acquire a 50.12% interest in the Kangwane Anthracite coal project in South Africa.

The project has a total JORC compliant resource of 114Mt of anthracite coal including a measured resource of 21Mt and an indicated resource of 25Mt.

GoldSpring has acquired seven patented mining claims totalling 48 acres, surface rights to two additional patented mining claims totalling 15 acres, 12 unpatented lode claims, and 15 acre-feet of water rights mining claims in Storey County, Nevada, US.
