Codelco suspended outdoor mining activities on 18 July because of strong winds, although indoor production processes remained unaffected, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The Chuquicamata and Radomiro Tomic mines form part of Norte, Codelco’s largest division.
Codelco is the world’s largest copper-mining company with 1.7 million metric tons of copper produced last year.
