Alamos Gold has announced a 9% drop in its second quarter gold production.
During Q2 2010, the company’s Mulatos mine produced 38,400oz of gold compared with 42,400oz last year.
This figure is 8% below the first quarter production of 2010.
Alamos said second quarter production was affected by increases to heap height and drought conditions during the latter half of June.
With the onset of the rainy season, Alamos expects to see a rise in production in Q3 2010.
Alamos said its production for the first half of 2010 is 80,000oz, which is on track to reach the company’s full year production forecast of 160,000-175,000oz of gold.
