Avion Gold said its second-quarter production has more than doubled at its Tabakoto and Segala projects in Mali, West Africa.
The company also said it is on track to meet its 2010 production target.
Avion’s output for Q2 2010 was 22,210oz of gold from the Mali projects, compared to 10,992oz produced in the second quarter last year.
The current figure is a 42% increase in production over Q1 2010 when 15,710oz of gold was produced.
Avion milled 183,100t of ore with a 95.8% mill recovery in the second quarter, compared to 182,600t of ore with a 93.7% mill recovery a year earlier.
The company has produced 37,920oz of gold year-to-date and remains on track to produce 75,000-85,000oz of gold in 2010.
