HWE Mining Secures Manganese Operation Contract

HWE Mining, a division of Leighton Contractors, has been awarded a $170m contract extension by Pilbara Manganese, a subsidiary of Consolidated Minerals at its Woodie Woodie manganese operations in Australia Under the contract, HWE will help Consolidated Minerals to increase production

HWE Mining, a division of Leighton Contractors, has been awarded a $170m contract extension by Pilbara Manganese, a subsidiary of Consolidated Minerals at its Woodie Woodie manganese operations in Australia

Under the contract, HWE will help Consolidated Minerals to increase production over the next 18 months at an average of 1.4 million bank cubic metres a month.

HWE will load and haul bulk waste material and assist in the movement of manganese ore and other mining activities undertaken by Consolidated Minerals.

The company has been working as the major mining contractor on the Woodie Woodie Manganese mine in Western Australia since 2007.
