Quadra FNX Mining may collaborate with Vale and Xstrata to tap the potential in small mine deposits in the Sudbury and Ontario regions of Canada.

Quadra CEO Paul Blythe said the company is keen to lend its expertise in small ore bodies to Vale and Xstrata, which started mining activity in Sudbury region in 2006.

"I don't think Xstrata or Vale are currently entirely happy with their positions in the camp," Blythe said.

Quadra spokesman David Constable told Reuters that while joint ventures could be explored, the company may also look at options for contract mining with Vale or Xstrata.

"We do think we could possibility add value in Sudbury in either role, so we will pursue possible additional business opportunities in Sudbury," Constable said.
