In mining deals this week, India's Jindal Steel bought nine coking coal mines in West Virginia to meet its expanding steel-making capacities.

The total consideration of the transaction is $250m.

Petra Diamonds completed its acquisition of the Kimberley Underground diamond mines from De Beers.

Petra said it will significantly add to the group's revenue and assist it to treble group production by 2019.

Eurogas purchased a 35% interest in Tombstone Exploration.

The acquisition will increase EuroGas' holdings in the Tombstone Mining District of south-east Arizona, which has a long history as a prolific producer of gold, silver and base metals.

New Global Ventures agreed to acquire a 100% interest in the El Tesoro Gold Mine from Global Mining SAS.

The El Tesoro Mine is located in the Northeast Department of Antioquia, Colombia, and covers 622ha.
