Workplace safety has come out as one of the top priorities for senior level executives in North America in a survey carried out by Mincom Research.

The mining software and services provider asked more than 100 mining companies what their focus would be for the year ahead, along with what they saw as pressing business challenges and drivers for growth and profit.

Unsurprisingly, safety executives were focused on improving performance and operational effectiveness.

Most mining companies agreed the best way to do this would be to comply with government regulations.

Responding to environmental concerns was listed as the last concern for many of the mining companies.

The Mincom Annual Study: Mining Executive Insights findings was compiled before January this year.
