Anglo Asian Mining said its Gedabek gold/copper project in Azerbaijan could contain at least 50% more metal than previously indicated in 2006.

The first of a report into the resource indicates upgrades may be required to get to the measured, indicated and inferred gold, copper and silver metal content.

Work carried out by Anglo on the project is expected to be complete in late 2010 with first output from the mine due to begin in May 2009.

Production for the first full year was expected to be around 50,000oz Au, while the previously published JORC compliant resource was 702,000oz of gold, 37,500t of copper and 6,100,000oz of silver.
