Ivernia said its Magellan mine in Western Australia resumed its processing operations on 22 February.

The Magellan processing plant has been under maintenance for nearly three years and has completed major refurbishment projects to ensure a high level of plant availability during 2010 and 2011.

Magellan estimates it will produce approximately 60,000t of contained lead in concentrates during 2010.

Ivernia estimates the Magelan mine will produce approximately 60,000t of contained lead in concentrates during 2010.

Magellan currently has approximately seven weeks of stockpiled ore available for processing through the plant, and mining operations are scheduled to restart in March.

On the restart and achievement of target production, Magellan is expected to account for approximately 2% of the world’s lead mine production.
