Iron ore producer Cazaly Resources failed to gain access to the Rhodes Ridge iron ore deposit in Australia after Rio Tinto had its rights to the land upheld.

The Mining Warden confirmed the validity of the Rhodes Ridge joint venture's tenure over Road Ridge rights under the Rhodes Ridge State Agreement.

The warden said specific exploration licence applications need further consideration but that any exploration licence should not interfere with joint venture activities.

The decision confirmed that partners Hancock Prospecting, Hamersley Resources and Wright Prospecting were validly occupying the project in Australia’s Pilbara region.
