Canadian mineral exploration firm Benton Resources has started the second phase of its diamond drilling programme at the Copper Hill Block A property in Ontario optioned from Golden Harp Resources.
The phase two programme is designed to follow up on the previously discovered high grade results at an area known as the Cook Zone and test the strike length at the MC Zone.
The firm’s diamond drill programme, which was completed in June, returned grades of 5.03gpt Au over 8.5m in GH09-01, 11.9gpt Au over 5.5m in GH09-02, and 21.41gpt Au over 3.0m in GH09-06 in the Cook Zone, which will be subject to the first three new holes.
The remaining drilling will focus on the MC zone, where diamond drilling in 2008 by Golden Harp intersected 3.6gpt gold over 9m from hole GH-019.
Benton has proposed a substantial drill programme to systematically test the IP anomaly and coincident soil.
Benton will also perform prospecting and geological mapping to establish new targets on the property.
Benton is earning up to a 70% interest in the property from Golden Harp.
