Energy Resources of Australia (ERA) said uranium production at its Ranger mine in the Northern Territory has increased by 44% to 1,481t in the second quarter of 2009, compared to the same quarter in 2008.
ERA attributes the increase to completed upgrades and improved milling rates, which is 22% more than first quarter of 2009 production.
Ore milled for the quarter was 21% higher than the previous quarter and 7% higher than the June 2008 quarter, due to improved utilisation and milling rates. The laterite
processing plant also contributed to production in the June 2009 quarter.
