Petaquilla’s Panama Gold Plant Workers Prepare to Begin Production

Emerging Canadian gold producer Petaquilla Minerals says it plans to begin commercial production at its Molejon Gold Plant in Panama City in August 2009.

The company said it is in the process of commissioning the plant and has produced about 9,525oz of gold and 3,195oz of silver since 7 April.

During the first fifteen days in July, about 3,781oz of gold and 1,144oz of silver has been produced, with approximately 6,500oz expected to be produced in the whole month.

Petaquilla will deploy a third ball mill and a full crushing plant at the project, expected to produce 2,200t a day during its first year of commercial production.
