NLMK Group's subsidiary Stoilensky has awarded a €280m contract to a consortium of Siemens VAI and Outotec for the construction of an iron pellet plant at Stoilensky, Russia.
The contract will involve the design and supply of required equipment and technologies, along with other services related to the construction of a plant.
Construction of the plant, which will have a capacity of 6Mtpa of iron ore pellets, is expected to be completed in 2014.
Stoilensky is currently expanding its pit and growing ore processing and beneficiation capacities.
According to the firm, the iron ore concentrate capacity will reach a total of 14Mtpa of iron ore concentrate and 1.7Mtpa of sinter ore by the end of 2011.
