Copper Mountain Mine Corporation has completed the construction of the processing plant at Copper Mountain Mine in British Columbia, Canada, and will begin full production later this month.

Mining works at the site began in April, and around 190,000t of mill feed has been stockpiled so far.

The mill was commissioned on 28 May with the processing of first ore, following which mechanical equipment adjustments were completed.

The Copper Mountain Project has a resource of about five billion pounds of copper. It will produce 100 million pounds of the metal annually.

Copper Mountain Mine Corporation owns 75% of the project, with Mitsubishi Materials holding the remaining stake.

The mine will be formally opened in August.
