Rescue teams in Mexico have recovered the body of the last of the 14 miners who were killed in a gas explosion at a coal mine in Coahuila last week.

The explosion, which occurred on 3 May, trapped the miners at a depth of 60m in the methane gas-filled mine.

A miner working at the surface outside the mine has lost an arm due to the explosion.

On 4 May 2011, rescue workers recovered bodies of five workers who were trapped inside the mine .

Labour secretary Javier Lozano told local reporters that the federal government would step up its inspections of mines in light of the blast.
