Century Mining has received approval to expand operations of the Lamaque mine in Val d'Or, Québec, from the Québec Ministry of Durable Development, Environment and Parks (MDDEP).

Century Mining has coordinated with MDDEP staff to develop restoration plans, including the use of tailings as covering material for the open pit waste dumps, and to respond to the MDDEP's concerns regarding technological application.

The firm will host a site visit, information session and sampling project at the Lamaque mine regarding the use of tailings materials in mine site reclamation.

Century Mining president and CEO Daniel Major said the certificate reflects the firm's commitment to developing the Lamaque mine in an evironmentally friendly way.
