AngloGold Ashanti has awarded CiDRA Minerals Processing a contract for the installation of three flow meters at its Cerro Vanguardia mine in Patagonia, Argentina.

CiDRA will install two of its SONARtrac systems on the overflow lines from the mill and secondary thickener, and the third meter will be installed on the milling hydrocyclone feed line.

According to the company, SONARtrac systems are non-invasive, easy to install without any interruption and provide high reliability, performance and maintenance-free operation.

Anglo Gold holds 92.5% interest in Cerro Vanguardia gold and silver mine, which is located in the province of Santa Cruz.

The mine consists of multiple small open pits with high stripping ratios, and the ore body consists of a series of hydrothermal vein deposits containing vast quantities of silver, which is produced as a by-product.
