RX Exploration has connected a new decline to the current internal ramp system and existing historical workings of the Drumlummon mine in Montana, US.

The new 'Gunsinger Decline' will establish a second larger route into the mine, which can be used for emergency assistance or evacuation when required.

The decline will also allow large mechanised equipment to enter the mine, provide a second route for ore and waste removal, and increase airflow for mine ventilation.

The decline was carried from an external portal established 1,250ft east and 70ft lower than the previous Maskelyne tunnel.
