Barminco Gets Mining Services Contract for Australian Nickel Mine

The Spotted Quoll mine is a open pit mine located in the Forrestania Nickel Project in Perth, Western Australia.

Under the three year contract, Barminco will provide all underground mining activities along with development and production, reports miningaustralia.

Barminco is currently providing mining activities to Western Areas Flying Fox underground nickel mine.

The first stage of the mine has an estimated lifespan of eight years.

Barminco CEO Neil Warburton said the operations will begin at the end of April with first ore forecast by February 2012.

Barminco has also increased its capabilities of its subsidiary, African Underground Mining Services.
