Anglo American Awards Mining Services Contract to John Holland

Anglo American's Metallurgical Coal business has awarded a mining services contract worth $144m to John Holland Group. Under the three-year contract, John Holland Group will provide coal mine operations for Anglo American's Lake Lindsay and Oak Park coal mines in Central Queensland.

Under the three-year contract, John Holland Group will provide coal mine operations for Anglo American's Lake Lindsay and Oak Park coal mines in Central Queensland.

Work under the contract includes providing mining services to a number of open coal pits along with mine planning, mine scheduling, drilling, blasting, truck excavator waste removal and coal mining.

John Holland Group managing director Glenn Palin said the contract is the first deal with Anglo American and will represent a step toward the expansion of the firms services to the mining and resources sectors over the year.

The final agreement is extended until February 2014.
