Gindalbie Metals has begun scoping studies for the proposed expansion of the Karara Iron Ore Project in Western Australia.

The study will evaluate an expansion from the project's 10Mtpa start-up production level to potentially 16Mtpa.

The project development team for phase 1 will remain in place for the phase 2 expansion, enabling cost savings in terms of consistency and continuity of knowledge and personnel, mobilisation and logistics.

Increased production will be accommodated by the existing rail, port, water and power capacity being developed as part of the stage one Karara project.
