Canada-based Capstone Mining has recommenced operations at its Cozamin mine, located north-west of Zacatecas City in Zacatecas, Mexico.

The firm plans to ramp up production levels to Cozamin's nominal design capacity of 3,000tpd, extracting ore from areas outside of the Avoca stopes.

Operations at the mine were suspended in November following a rock fall.

The limited mining in the Avoca stopes will resume in January and is expected to return to full capacity in February 2011, allowing production to be sustained at design capacity.
