Under the Western Australian Iron Ore agreement, Monadelphous will carry out structural, mechanical and electrical upgrades at the Newman Hub site.

The engineering firm also received a contract for the dewatering of surplus water at Jimblebar mine site in Newman, WA.

Monadelphous expects the Newman Hub structural, mechanical and electrical upgrades to be completed before the end of next year.

The engineering company also announced that its maintenance and industrial services division had secured a contract for a “major dragline shutdown” at BHP Mitsubishi Alliance’s (BMA’s) Saraji coal mine near Dysart in Queensland.

Monadelphous expects to complete the work for BHP Mitsubishi Alliance by the end of this year.

In May, Monadelphous said it witnessed deferments on large resources construction projects as a result of supply chain issues in Australia due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In February last year, Monadelphous Group secured a $108m contract at BHP’s $3.6bn South Flank iron ore project in Pilbara region.
