Idled Australian Plant Meets its Fate

Liberty Industrial is heading up one of the largest and most challenging demolition projects in the southern hemisphere, and it is well on-track to meeting a challenging timeline, thanks in large part to a veritable arsenal of Genesis mobile shears.

The Boodarie Iron plant Western Australia was once a cutting-edge development that took fines from the iron ore process and turned it into a hot-briquetted feedstock for electric arc furnaces. The company was shut down in 2004 due to a combination of rising iron ore costs and reduced product demand, and was eventually slated for demolition.
