Leon Dickinson, Gekko’s services manager, writes:
“Since the last edition of The Gekko Update, my site visits have included Ghana and South Africa on the African sub-continent, as well as Peru and Argentina in South America. It was enjoyable meeting everyone on the different sites, where many companies are operating InLine Leach Reactors.
One outstanding visit was to the San Rafael tin mine in Peru, situated high in the Peruvian Andes at 4,500m. The company operates two inline pressure jigs (IPJ 2400) that currently pre-concentrate up to 10% of the world’s tin production.
Where time was available I provided the companies with information on maintenance requirements, Gekko training programs, technical support capabilities and new product developments from Gekko, including the MagScreen. Increasingly, customers are taking advantage of visits from our on-site technical and specialist team service packages.
An exciting new development is the Gekko Forum, recently launched on our website. It enables our highly-skilled staff to share information with Gekko clients – and vice versa – in order to support and optimize equipment.
When travelling between sites during my last trip to Ghana, I made an unscheduled visit to a children’s orphanage. On behalf of Gekko, donations were made – I found the visit to be enlightening.
I hope that I will have the opportunity to meet you onsite or online but, in any event, please do not hesitate to contact me anytime.”
