Dust Control and Mine Water Solutions for Mining Applications

13 Glen Avon Terrace,
VIC 3690,

Wet Earth specialises in designing, manufacturing, and providing client-specific dust suppression solutions to mining companies.

We are a full-service solution provider, supplying services starting from electrical, hydraulic and mechanical design and manufacture to installation supervision and commissioning.

We focus on controlling mine dust, evaporating wastewater and general mine water and spray systems.

Stockpile dust control solutions for mine sites

Stockpile dust suppression solutions rely on factors such as material characteristics, the quality and availability of water, the ease of the spray system installation, stockpile turnover frequency, and the stacking and reclaiming method.

Effective stockpile dust suppression is usually done with regular watering.

Stockpile spray systems

Wet Earth has a variety of long-throw, high-angle sprinklers for stockpile dust suppression applications. We can also provide a full solution, which includes sprinklers, valves and a control system.

Crusting agents for adverse environments

The addition of a polymer-based crusting agent when using high-volume sprinklers or fog cannons can significantly reduce the frequency of application, as well as improve dust suppression performance in high wind conditions.

Wet Earth has two crusting agents for these applications. RT5 Superskin is a cost-efficient solution for various applications while TGC is used on materials such as sand or regions with high angles.

Evaporation spray systems

Wet Earth’s customisable evaporation spray systems provide automated regular wetting of the ground surface to optimise evaporation while reducing infiltration.

They feature a solar-powered control system, web-based reporting, a text message reporting notification and control functionality, and easy integration with a site’s existing Citect or supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.

Compatible with most water types, they offer a wide range of benefits such as low running costs, automated operations, and adjustable water disposal volumes.

Dust suppression systems for airborne particles

Wet Earth is the exclusive Australian distributor of the Fog Cannon® dust suppression solution, which suppress up to 95% of airborne dust particles generated by open mining activities, general demolition work and bulk material handling.

There are several models of Fog Cannon® available with throw ranges from 30m to 500m, an automatic rotation of up to 270° and an adjustable elevation angle ranging from 0° to 45°. In addition, the water consumption varies from 15l/min to 6,000l/min, depending on the model and application.

Additional chemicals can be also be added to the spray to either enhance the performance of suppressing airborne dust or develop a crust on stockpiles.

Haul road dust control chemicals

Wet Earth offers a large range of environmentally friendly chemicals that can be used for haul road dust suppression. They aim to minimise dust, improve road structure, and reduce water truck and water usage.

We supply DustWorx® GX, which is a concentrated polymer-based product that acts as an additive to water trucks, as well as complementary water truck-based and standpipe-based dosing systems.

For car parks, storage yards and roads where DustWorx is not an option, Zero is an environmentally friendly ‘Synthetic Organic’ formulation that coats the fines and binds them to the road surface. A single application can prevent dust without the need to regularly water the road for up to 12 months.

Haul road dust control spray systems

Wet Earth designs and supplies automated spray systems for both open-pit and underground mine haul roads. They eliminate water trucks off haul roads while offering high watering frequency, reduced application rates and increased control.

The systems also aim to optimise costs and productivity and can be customised for site-specific road width, lengths and elevation changes, as well as site standards.

Sime Washdown Skipper Upgrade

The original Sime Washdown Skipper was a high-pressure gear drive sprinkler that was inverted with a nozzle extension.
