DUX model DT-20T Concrete Haulers worked round the clock on the Channel Tunnel Rail Link Project, delivering concrete to a Gomaco Commander III Slip Form Concrete paver from a Davidson’s Compactor Batch Plant.

The units measured only 6ft6in (1,980mm) wide, making it possible for them to pass each other over two moveable crossing bridges (ramps) that were strategically placed during the project.

The DUX DT-20T, with a 90° dumping angle, emptied its 8.3m³ load of concrete into a large skid, where a 13t excavator, with a shortened boom to work in the tight tunnel conditions, scooped the concrete out of the skid and dumped it into the hopper in front of the paver.

In addition to the DT-20T’s, a DUX P1-PC20 Personnel Carrier which transported up to 20 people, as well as pulled the moveable ramps into strategic positions performed excellently contributing to the success of the CTRL Project built by the Nishimatsu Cementation Skanska joint-venture for project manager Rail Link Engineering (led by Bechtel), and client, Union Railways.
