Managing director and CEO, Bisalloy, Greg Albert, has announced that the company has appointed Shane Gleeson in the role of group general manager sales and marketing.

Gleeson most recently held the position of general sales manager of SSAB and Ruukki Australia, NZ and APAC, and his engagement is a feather in the cap of the Australian steel manufacturer.

"Shane Gleeson brings more than 11 years of experience in growing the SSAB and Ruukki business in Australia, NZ and, more recently, throughout Asia, and it is exciting to have him on board at Bisalloy Steels," Greg Albert said.

"His in-depth knowledge of quench and tempered steels across a diverse range of markets, and his wealth of experience with major global players in our industry, will make him a valuable addition to our great team."

Gleeson’s new role with Bisalloy Steels will see him join the executive management team and hold responsibility for the leadership, management and future direction of all the company’s sales and marketing activities.

With Bisalloy Steels currently implementing a new strategy to grow the business in Australia and internationally, Albert feels they have acquired the right man at the right time.

"Shane’s expertise in driving, managing and implementing successful change programmes in sales organisations will be vital to our new business strategy and invaluable in helping Bisalloy Steels respond and rise to the needs of a challenging and dynamic marketplace," Albert said.
