Newcrest Mining has posted a 32% rise in fourth quarter gold production, aided by a record output at mines in Australia, Indonesia and a new operation in Papua New Guinea.
The company's production for the three months ended June 30 stood at 526,131oz compared with 397,826oz produced in the same period in 2009.
Newcrest's full-year gold output rose 8% to 1.76 million ounces, with record quarterly production at its Telfer mine in Australia and the Gosowong mine in Indonesia.
However, the company's copper production dropped 12% to 20,827t.
