Protests have started at a Chinese coal mine suffering the loss of 104 people as of this morning following a deadly blast in a pit.
Relatives have joined at the mine, demanding answers to the accident – another blight on the record of China’s deadly coal-mining industry.
The accident led to the rescue of about 500 miners underground at the time.
Relatives have said those running the mine have withheld information regarding the deaths.
The blast occurred as safety staff tried to evacuate miners following news that gas had entered the mine, according to state media.
It occurred 500m below ground level.
The government is already investigating to ascertain if any crimes or misconduct brought about the devastating blast or loss of lives.
